As a mother of three littles, educator, and entrepreneur, making time for my passion of writing demands extra attention if I actually want to share these stories with the world.

I’ve always been a lover of stories - listening to my Grams’s family stories, devouring fiction book after fiction book in my bed late at night, and inventing new stories in my head to share…someday. But when my oldest child was born, a fresh desire came over me to publish a book that would inspire her and that we could read together. Life felt like it was at full tilt though, and it never came to fruition. Years later, I changed to part-time teaching/consulting, and full-time caretaker of my third baby, in order to rewrite my “too busy” story to one that allows me to share with the world the loving stories I create with my children.

When we’re not at home crafting, building forts, or watching movies together, you’ll find us at our family restaurant, Manila Resto, eating heaps of Filipino food. Tying in our family’s heritage into my books is an important aspect of the art created for these stories. I want my own children and others to see beautiful people in different skin-tones making up families just like theirs, while other children will see that families can look different than their own.
